The primary source of information for all members of the WCC LGPS fund will be the pension website which will be updated with any relevant scheme changes or additional information that a member of the fund may need.
If you are currently working for a scheme employer they should keep you up to date with any scheme changes. Any important changes will also be updated on the website.
Each year you will receive an Annual Benefit Statement (ABS) showing you the pension benefits that you have built up so far and what you might receive when you retire.

If you have accrued pension in the WCC pension fund having left the scheme you will be sent a statement of benefits within 3 months of leaving. You will then be sent an annual update each year following the application of the annual Consumer Price Index (CPI) increase.
Prior to payment becoming due the pensions team will write to you regarding claiming your benefit. You may contact the WCC team if you have a query on your pension using the methods outlined on the contacts tab.

Every year a pensions newsletter is produced and sent out to all deferred and pensioner members. Scheme employers will be sent a copy of the newsletter to distribute to staff. Members will be able to access copies of the latest newsletter via the website.
It's important particularly where a member has left employment with the scheme employer through which LGPS membership accrued, to keep the WCC Pensions team up to date with any address changes.
We recommend that all active and deferred members ensure the pension team have up to date marital status details and that death grant nomination forms and partner nomination forms are completed as applicable. Details of any nominations should be included with your annual benefit statement.
Every year the WCC Fund has an AGM. The AGM will cover a range of fund matters including Investment, fund governance, administration, regulation changes, pension options and member enhancements as relevant. The AGM will be advertised in the pensions newsletter, on the pensions website, on the pensions Increase notification letter and directly to scheme employers to communicate to staff directly.
The 2020 AGM will be at 64 Victoria Street, LONDON SW1E 6QP, date to be confirmed. For further information please e-mail edennis@westminster.gov.uk.
