Change of Pension Administrator

On Monday 8 November 2021, the pension fund will have a new pension fund administrator, Hampshire Pension Services (HPS).

Hampshire Pension Services (HPS) is a dedicated Local Government Pension Scheme (LGPS) administration service within Hampshire County Council.

There will be no change to your LGPS pension benefits, however there are some points for you to note and actions that you may wish to take.

Checking your details

We advise you to check your personal details on our current pension fund administrator, Surrey County Council’s ‘My Pension Portal’ by Wednesday 20 October. You will not be able to change any details on ‘My Pension Portal’ after 5pm on Wednesday 20 October.

If you have not registered for 'My Pension Portal', please see steps below to register.

  1. Go to https://mypension.surreycc.gov.uk

  2. If you do not have a username or password, please click on 'Request One'

  3. You will receive an email with a link to complete your registration. The link within the email will expire after 12 hours, you will need to contact Surrey County Council if you do not complete registration within this period

  4. You can contact Surrey County Council if you have trouble registering, please email myhelpdeskpensions@surreycc.gov.uk

The HPS Member Portal and contact centre

From Monday 15 November you will have the opportunity to register for the new user friendly HPS Member Portal here, you will not be able to access the portal before 15 November. This portal is an online service which will enable you to:

  • View and update your personal details - these changes are updated in real time
  • Securely view Annual Benefit Statements
  • Run retirement estimates online
  • Add or amend an 'Expression of Wish' form
  • Update Membership Option Form
  • Request estimates online
  • Complete Retirement Declaration Form
  • A new feature is that you will also be able to send messages and ask questions directly to HPS from your Member Portal Account. HPS will respond in the same way so there will be a log of all correspondence for you to view in the portal.

We are pleased to share that the overall customer experience with HPS and their online services will enhance the experience going forward for members of the scheme.
